On Saturday July 30, a flash flood hit historic Ellicott City. This natural disaster was brief but left our business with such destruction. The water level reached 5 and 1/2 feet on our 1st floor. After we were allowed back into the property we began immediately removing all the damaged products and ruined showcases. The Department 56 village layouts were overturned and destroyed as well. The challenge was to remove the mud and salvage what we could. We are now directing our attention to rebuilding and restoring and looking forward to reopening to celebrate our 33 years on Main Street. We can not say enough about the outpouring of volunteers that helped us to get to this point. Their generosity of time and work brought a huge boost of moral to the whole calamity of destruction, thank you. Thank you to all that participated in the cleanup and recovery.
Our employees are like family and need your help and support, since the store has been closed due to the disaster. On Saturday Sept 10, from 1-4pm at the Stella Notte restaurant – Golden Triangle Shopping Center, 8809 Baltimore National Pike, EC, Md 21043 ( 410-461-1122). There will be a relief benefit exclusively for employees to recover their loss of income through this stressful period. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to our talented employees. We encourage our patrons and supporters to attend this fundraiser. Thank you.”
